Gene Crownover

Norman Eugene "Gene" Crownover, 68, of Avonmore, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024 at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA.

He was born on April 10, 1956 in Indiana, PA; the son of Stanley D. and Thelda E. (Farster) Crownover.

Gene was the owner and operator of Crownover Gears and Rears for over 20 years. Prior to running his business, he ran bulldozer for Jerry Kimmel. He enjoyed collecting Case knives, marbles, Zippo lighters, Bigfoot merchandise, M&M's candy and Three Stooges memorabilia. Gene was devoted to his family, especially his grandson, Dawson. He had big plans for Dawson, and his family will share his stories and memories for years to come.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 26 years, Debbie (Walker) Crownover; his son, Stan E. Crownover and fiancée, Morgan of Avonmore; grandson, Dawson Eugene Crownover; three sisters, Connie Crana, Jennifer Reigh, and Lisa Kelly; his Aunt Kay Crownover; and Uncle Harold and Jane Farster.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

A viewing was held privately for family and close friends.

Interment will be in Ridge View Cemetery, Saltsburg, PA.

The family will have a Celebration of Life on Gene's favorite holiday July 4, 2025 at the farm.
