Joseph E. Wyant, 92, of Kittanning, PA, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at VA Butler Healthcare.

He was born October 15, 1923 in Washington Twp., Armstrong Co., PA to Joseph C. and Lottie (Hodson) Wyant.

Joseph honorably served in the US Army during World War II and was a medic in the Battle of the Bulge. For his service, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and four Bronze Stars. Joseph worked as a caster for Eljer Manufacturing in Ford City for 33 years until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Eljer Retirees Club, the Kittanning Elks, the VFW and the American Legion in Cowansville. Hunting and golfing were his favorite hobbies, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

His memory will be cherished by his sons, Gary F. Wyant and wife, Linda, of Crestline, OH, and Timothy D. Wyant and partner, Josie Moorhead, of Kittanning; daughter, Sue Buterbaugh and husband, Edward, of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Doris Edna (Bellas) Wyant, whom he married July 27, 1943 and who died November 2, 2007; son, Joseph E. Wyant, who died in 1998; brothers, Harry and William Wyant; and sisters, Betty Roudybush, Lucy Samaj, and Alberta Wyant

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edward A. Walters officiating.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
