Donald J. Ripley

Donald J. Ripley, 69, of Sligo, PA passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo, PA.

He was born September 26, 1946 in Corning, NY, the son of James J. and Margaret (Chapin) Ripley.

Donald lived in New York and Florida for most of his life before moving to Rimersburg in 2005. He worked as a machinist and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Donald loved driving and working on race cars, and also rode and worked on motorcycles. Listening to 50s and 60s music was another of his hobbies, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Donald will be best remembered for being a strong-willed and determined man.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Donald James "Jake" Ripley, Jr., of Sanford, FL; daughter, Tonyalea M. Leita and husband, Richard, of West Plains, MO; grandchildren, Patrick Marlow, Matthew Marlow, Seth Ripley and Stacie Ripley; brothers, Edward Ripley and wife, Yvonne, of Deltona, FL, and Bobby Ripley and wife, Wanda, of South Carolina; and sisters, Sharon Hooker, of Emlenton, PA, and Nancy Gee, of Knox, PA.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Beverly J. (Miller) Ripley, whom he married February 11, 1967 and who died May 7, 2011.

At Donald's request, services will be private.
