Gerald A. "Soapy" Moffit

Gerald Albert "Soapy" Moffit, 74, of Kittanning, formerly of Charleroi, PA, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at home.

Soapy was born in Charleroi on September 8, 1941 and graduated from Charleroi High School where he was a member of the football team. He worked as salesman for the Beverage Distribution Inc. in Washington, PA, and was a member of the Keystone Club in Washington and of the Kittanning Elks. Soapy coached Little League Baseball and Youth Football in Washington, PA. Buying lottery tickets was one of his favorite things to do.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his former wife, Bonnie Dulany; two sons, Vincent I. Moffit of Kittanning and Ron Moffit and wife, Cathy of Charleroi; a daughter, Tina Fox and husband, Jonathan of Templeton; and five grandchildren, Ashleigh Minckler, Ryan Minckler, Lakien Porter, Bethany Moffit, and Abby Moffit.
