Martha Jane Bowser

Martha Jane Bowser, 98, of Butler, PA, formerly of Kittanning, PA, fell asleep on Earth and woke in the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 25, 2016, at Sunnyview Nursing Home, Butler.

She was born April 9, 1917 in South Buffalo Twp., Armstrong County, PA, the daughter of James R. McIntyre, Sr. and Bessie (Beale) McIntyre.

Jane lived in Armstrong County most of her life and graduated from Freeport High School in 1936. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a member of Center Hill Church of the Brethren. Jane was active with the Area Agency on Aging Senior Citizens Center of Kittanning and for many years volunteered in the kitchen. She loved baking, especially for friends and family, and taking care of her yard and flower gardens. Jane's family and friends - especially her nieces and nephew - were her greatest treasure and she cherished the time she spent with them.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Peggy Ann Rush, of Butler; grandchildren, William Rush, IV and wife, Denise, of Ohio, and Lisa Koreen, of Kittanning; great-grandchildren, Sean, Brendon, and Tyler Malia, Alexis, Billy, and Matthew Rush; and seven step-great-grandchildren; a nephew Bob McIntyre and wife Linda, two nieces, Gloria (McIntyre) Foster and husband John and Eileen (McIntyre) Kerr and husband Herb; 7 great nieces and nephews, Joanna, Emily and Elizabeth Foster, Tim Kerr, Kayla Lang and husband Matt, and Jesse and Debbie McIntyre, and two great-grand nieces, Madison and Kadence Lang.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Woodrow R. Bowser, whom she married July 12, 1940 and who died December 4, 1977; infant daughter, Sally Jane Bowser; and brothers, James R. McIntyre, Jr. and Paul B. McIntyre.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, January 28 at Center Hill Church of the Brethren, 2039 Freeport Rd., Kittanning, with Pastor Donald Peters officiating.

Interment will be in Center Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
