Eleanor K. Weeter

Eleanor K. Weeter, 87, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 7, 1928 in East Rutherford, NJ, the daughter of Paul H. and Ida L. (Nelson) Kolterjahn. She married the late Tommy A. Weeter on September 23, 1950 and moved to his hometown of Kittanning.

Eleanor was a lifelong volunteer, always donating her time and energy to help others. Her past volunteer commitments included the Armstrong Well Baby Clinic which she took part in starting with Dr. James Greenbaum, M.D., Progressive Workshop, Eastern Stars, Orphans of the Storm, American Heart Association, and the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where she formerly served as President. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning. Eleanor enjoyed playing cards and at one time was active in two weekly bridge groups. She loved to watch Lawrence Welk and visit the beach, particularly Myrtle Beach, where she and her husband used to snow bird yearly.
She will be best remembered as a compassionate woman with strong beliefs who enjoyed making people laugh.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debra W. Forte of Kittanning; two granddaughters, Jessica S. Struve and husband, Ryan of Bristow, VA, and Lyndsay A. Forte of Harrisburg, PA; a great-grandson, Owen Tommy Struve; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Kolterjahn of Westfield, NJ; two nephews, Paul Kolterjahn of Westfield, NJ and Donald Kolterjahn of Fanwood, NJ; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 58 years, Tommy A. Weeter who died November 14, 2008; and brother, Paul "Tiny" Kolterjahn.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.

Memorial contributions may be given in her honor to the ACMH Hospital Auxiliary, 1 Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA, Orphans of the Storm, PO Box 838, Kittanning, PA, or to St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA.
