Joan K. Irvine

Joan K. Irvine, 73, of Apollo, PA, formerly of Latrobe and Murrysville, PA, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at Back to Basics Personal Care Home in Dayton, PA.

She was born June 20, 1942 in Derry, PA, the daughter of Joseph Kuchta and Helen Kuchta Schall.

Joan's strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through many years of her illness. Family was paramount in her life and she cherished the time spent with her children and especially with her grandchildren. She loved caring for family and friends through her delicious cooking and baking - especially her desserts. Joan loved crafting, gardening, interior designing, and creating floral arrangements. She formerly worked as a real estate agent for Prudential. She will best be remembered for her generosity, selflessness, and giving.

She is survived by her son, David L. Irvine and wife, Veronica, of Forest Hills, PA; daughter, Denise K. Getty and husband, Tim, of Dayton, PA; grandchildren, Sofia Getty, Colin Irvine and Leah Irvine; brother, Jim Kuchta and wife, Patty, of Derry, PA; sisters, Nancy Demangone and husband, Bob, of Derry, PA, and Marilyn Balega, of Finley, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon L. Irvine, who died in July 1993; and brothers, Paul Kuchta and Robert "Bud" Black.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
