James E. 'Dod' Wyant, 80, of Mayport, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his home.

James was born March 12, 1934 in Timblin, PA to Ira E. and Pearl (Burkhouse) Wyant.

James was a lifetime resident of the area and honorably served in the US Army. He worked for many years as the Redbank Township Supervisor but also loved farming on his land. Running the tractor and raising cattle for his family were two of his favorite things to do on the farm. When not working, James enjoyed hunting and fishing. He taught many of his nieces and nephews to hunt and fish, and also traveled to Michigan and Canada for fishing trips.

His memory will be cherished by his brother, Melvin Wyant and wife, Judy, of Mayport; sisters, Isabell Geist, of Mayport, Maxine Wyant, of Mayport, and Nancy Rummell and husband, David, of Fairmount City; and three generations of numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Robert Wyant; sisters, Irene Leasure and Clara Potts; step-brother, Jack Wyant; and step-sisters, Elizabeth Beck and Elnora Heberling.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 East Main St., Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Pendley officiating.

Interment will be in Copenhaver Crossroads Cemetery, Dayton, PA.
